The S-ploited ++ Bangkok Roadtrip (10-14 June 2010)

It’s been almost a year.

At KL Sentral Station taking the train to Butterworth.

Some of our favourite peeps were there to send us off: Edmund, Amer & Aston!

The train left KL around 11pm and reached Butterworth around 7am.

When we reached Butterworth, we checked into a hotel to freshen up a bit. The next train to Bangkok is at 2pm, so plenty of time to kill. First off, breakie at the local kopitiam with the friendliest uncle ever! 

Then Ben came to pick us up for lunch.

After that its all the way to Bangkok baby!

Weddings are big business

Jesus, I just got the programme for my sis’s 3-day wedding.

I have to admit, I have not been involved much in the planning that my mom had to email it to me. I’m just rimas as the Malay say it. It’s like all I keep hearing is beli kain, buat baju. Seriously, how many kains and bajus do we need???!?

And then the ring. And the hantaran.

And then, nevermind.

Just can’t wait for this to be ova.

Opening of Legal Year 2011 (15 Jan 2011)

Was not as fun as last year. Estimate at least half of the members fr last year attended this year. Really missing those that attended last year – you know who you are!

But good to see new faces.

I bought ‘em last year actually. But only recently really listen to it. They’re on heavy rotation now. With artists such as Jaga Jazzist, Mr Scruff, Roots Manuva just to name a few, how can you not like the compilation?

You know you’re getting old when…

you start to attend your friend’s parents funeral.

Attended Roger Chan’s dad’s wake yesterday. He passed away on Friday. Typical Roger, when I text my condolence to him, his reply was:

“No problem la Seira.. he crossed over at 88.”

Always someone who is cheerful and a staunch advocate of human rights, even while we were hanging out at the waiting area, Roger still talks about religion (“It’s divisive, inclusive… blablabla… If their theory is right, they have to prove it… blablabla… Some of their arguments are just based on presumptions… blablabla”) – he doesnt believe in it. Yet, despite that, he would still partake in the last rites for his dad, to appease his family.

Lah Lah Land Jan. 2011

Hoyeah. Opened a stall with Phei Phei. Tiring. It was fr 12-9pm. Tho we started packing by 8pm. Sales not too bad. Could have been better – location not that strategic, it being in Global Business Park (where the heck is that???!). Good stuff tho. Over 60 vendors with loads of dresses, bags & accessories to choose from. Thanx to all who came!
